I found a replace for MyFitnessPal and it seems promising! It’ss MacrosFirst. It is paid, $80/year. I’m on a one week trial so I’ll see if I commit next week. I went back and logged my first couple of days. but I do like it a lot so far. It has an AI function where I can take pictures of my food and it will come up with estimates. It did that for my dinner at a restaurant today. I can also give it my Chat estimates and it will import that. I just like the interface more than MyFitnessPal.
I do wish it let me track my how much water I have left for the day like it does my macros, but thats fine. I can find another app for that if I really want too. At least I can log it. It also lets me log my weight. Now I know the number is nuanced, and it still kinda scares me, but it is information. So it will be good to be able to track my progress. I also tracks other nutrients like fiber, sodium, iron, which is pretty cool.
When I put in my 1800 calorie goal, it did recommend different macros—180P, 158C, and 50F. So it feels got to have a little more direction. Hitting that protein is tough. I really have to pay attention to that.
I also have to pay attention to how I express myself to Chat. I was using it to prepare to go out to dinner and I really wanted to indulge and it gave me suggestions on how to do it, but I have to be really rigid for these 75 days. I was hoping it would remind me of that, but it can’t do everything. It did end up giving me some good recommendations that I did go with.
